And, as anticipated, the herbs were leggy and showing signs of insufficient light. So, I scrounged around and found a 12 inch fluorescent light and suspended it about 8 inches above the herbs and turn it on for about 6 hours at night. So far they are responding well but I have learned that trying to grow anything indoors in January and February is probably not worth the effort.
Here in New Hampshire we have to wait until the end of May to plant outside so I usually start seeds in this window sill in late April. That just seems like a long time away. And, while these herbs will be the most expensive that I have ever bought, the experiment was still fun...
